D4 A2 - What's in a Name?

If I were to change my name what would it be and why?

Even though I think about changing my name a lot I don't really think I ever would. I know why the name I have is my name and I know the importance of it.
If I were to change my name I think it would be... Cassandra Potter.
Cassandra would be for one of my favourite authors Cassandra Clare, who wrote The Mortal Instruments, and Potter would be from one of my most favourite cluster of books, Harry Potter.
But then again if I did ever change my name to that it probably would have been a last minute decision.

D4 A1 - Individual Pursuits

  1. I've learnt that when it comes to the social world men are more noticed than women. Women's rights are not are cared for, when men's rights are.
  2. Serena Williams is the highest paid female athlete in the world she comes 51st in most paid around the world, and the person in front of her, Roger Federer even though he was a tennis player $84M more than Selena. Women far more underpaid when it comes to sports.
  3. I think it is so unfair that even though Venus Williams has won 23 grand slams she's only won $80M during her career while Novak Djokovic has earned over $100M despite only winning 12 grand slams!
What I want to know the most is WHY men are paid far more money than women, even if the women worked harder and longer.

D3 A2 - Defying the Odds

Attribution: Stephen Curry

If I were to interview Stephen Curry what would my five questions be:
  1. My first question would be: "How long have you been playing basketball?"
  2. My second question would be: "What inspired you to be a basketball player?"
  3. My third question would be: "What other sports did you like when you were a kid other than basketball?"
  4. My fourth question would be: "How old were you when you first started playing basketball?"
  5. My fifth question would be "Why did you decide to be a basketball player?"

If I were to have three superpowers what would they be and why?
  1. My first power would be mind reading because I would know what everyone was thinking and what their next move would be.
  2. My second power would be an elemental because then I could control everything. Air, water, earth and fire. I could also control humans seeing as nearly 60% of the human body is made up of water.
  3. My third power would be copycat because then if anyone else had powers I could copy their powers and have so many.

D2 A3 - Miracle on the Hudson

Either I don't know someone doing something brave or I just can't remember.
I don't ever recall knowing someone doing something brave, maybe I did when I was younger, but I definitely don't now.
I think the closest thing I know to anyone doing something brave would be my Mum, when she took charge after a dog was loose and had bitten three children including my sister. She didn't panic and had everything under control, she just called animal control.

D2 A2 - One Small Step For Man

Attribution: Neil Armstrong

I have chosen to write two Haiku Poems about how I would have felt, landing on the moon.

Landing on the moon,
bouncing on a trampoline,
I was terrified!

Floating in the air,
while moving in slow motion,
I was excited!

D2 A1 - Flying Solo

Similarities between Jean Batten and Amelia Earhart:
  1. Jean and Amelia were both female solo aviators (Pilots), and they were very great at their profession, which was flying.
  2. Jean and Amelia were both very well known when it came to breaking world wide records, beating the previous record owner's score by a long shot.
  3. Jean and Amelia were both famous around the world for being aviators.
Differences between Amelia Earhart and Jean Batten:
  1. While both Amelia and Jean broke world records Amelia had much more experience seeing as she started flying 15 years before Jean in 1920.
  2. While they were both strong believers of female rights, Jean was quite girly due to the fact that she always brought a silk dress when she flew so that she would look good at parties she attended when she arrived at her destination.
  3. Amelia flew much longer trips than Jean and had far more bigger dreams than her too! Seeing a she died while trying to fly around the entire world!

The SCPA charities are raising money to protect sick, injured, abused or abandoned animals. They raise money to buy the resources to be able to help a lot of animals by nursing them back to health.
The SPCA charity protects animals that have been neglected and those that have, at one point been afraid of human contact due to what the owners have done to the animal.

The SPCA charity goes to a very great cause, animals should be protected, loved, fed, and looked after. SPCA charities do just that. With enough money they can help animals and give them away to a loving family.

If I were invited to by Nainoa Thompson to go voyaging for three weeks without a refrigerator or freezer, I would bring:
  1. Canned Food (corn, fruit salad, soup and others), because they last long, and only go bad while opened.
  2. Nuts (peanuts, almonds, cashews), because they are healthy and are delicious.
  3. Crackers and Biscuits (without icing), because they can last long and keep your sugar levels stable.
  4. Dry Fruit (apples, banana), because they are a good snack and won't go yuck.
  5. Bread Rolls, because they last a good amount of time.
  6. Meat (preserved in sea salt barrels, portable cooker), because it keeps your protein up, it's delicious and it keeps you strong.
  7. Granola Bars, because they are healthy and usually last a very long time while still in their packages.
  8. Potato chips, because they're delicious and cannot go off unless the bag is open.
  9. Barley Sugars, because they can reduce nausea if you get seasick.
  10. Peanut butter, because it lasts a long time, it's delicious and it's preserved in its packaging.

D4 A3 - Mass Migration

I strongly disagree with Donald Trump, because it is not fair on Mexico seeing as he's forcing Mexico to pay at least $5 billion dollars for a wall they do not want. It is simply not fair, due to the fact he is saying he will not pay a single cent.

On the other hand I think Donald Trump has a point, Mexico could be trespassing, meaning they could easily sneak illegal substances into america.

But America isn't entirely agreeing with him, seeing as he is demanding billions for the wall from American taxpayers.
I am not on choosing either side seeing as I agree and disagree with both parties.
