CLAP! The bangers went off I ran as fast as Usain Bolt. Reremoana was in front of me, suddenly Zaleen passed me I thought to myself, “Oh no Zaleen passed me I need to run faster!!” After a while I passed her. I tried to catch up to Reremoana but she was too fast.
I got to the hill. “Ugh this hill is so steep I don’t want to run anymore!” I said while moaning. I sprinted to the gates. “GROWL” I thought to myself “What was that noise?!!”
I looked behind me and saw a humongous beast! It had sharp claws, spots everywhere, it had super long whiskers and fluffy fur. I ran as fast as I could but it was no use the beast was too fast. I got to the field and ran all the way to the 2nd paddock then I jumped the obstacles. I saw Reremoana in front of me running to the finishing shoot, the beast was still behind me and it was getting closer and closer. “Clip clop” a Gazelle popped out from behind a tree. The beast chased after the gazelle and suddenly the animal control grabbed the beast.
I tried to catch up to her and at the last minute she tripped, “Ouch it hurts so much!” I thought, “thank god I can finally beat her once and for all!!”
I sprinted to the end and got into the final shoot and I won!
We waited for Miss Castle to call out the year 6 winners and it was finally our turn. “In third place is Zaleen, in second place is Reremoana and in first place is Amelia!” We collected our awards and went back to the gazebos.
Miss Kereopa loudly read out the house points. “Okay so in fourth place was Rimu, in third place was Totara, in second place was Kauri. So the winning house was Pohutukawa!!!” After that we all went back to class for lunch.
We are learning how to write stories on cross country and sometimes use our imagination.
I found it hard to use my imagination and figure out how the animal got away because I dont really like cross country.
Next time I would like to make a better story and use more punctuation, metifors, similies and speech.
